Tampon Tuesday is helping to fill the need for feminine hygiene products here in Oxford.
WOODSTOCK/TILLSONBURG - After collecting a mountain of feminine in hygiene products at the first local Tampon Tuesday, The United Way is doing it again.
The second installation of Tampon Tuesday is happening tonight from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at both the Tillsonburg and the Woodstock Kelsey's Restaurants.
Executive Director with United Way Oxford, Kelly Gilson says it's a fun night for a great cause.
"So people can stop in, drop off a donation, they can stay to socialize with friends or colleagues or network, and just really celebrate the fact that together as a community, we can make a big difference for women and girls that live here in Oxford County."
United Way Oxford collected over $2500 worth of feminine hygiene products in March and hope to match that or surpass that number this time around.
Gilson says that people don't realize how something so small can help.
"It can make a really big difference, especially for those living with a limited income. We are thrilled that our Gen Next committee has taken this on and has a way that they believe can really make a difference in Oxford County."
The United Way Oxford will be donating the feminine hygiene products to the Woodstock Salvation Army food and the helping Hands food bank in Tillsonburg.
