Today is April 30th -- deadline day to file your 2011 income tax return. If you expect to owe money this year, you've got until midnight to get your return post-marked and mailed off to the government to ensure you won't be hit with a late-filing penalty. The Canada Revenue Agency charges late filers five per cent of the amount owing, plus one-per-cent of the outstanding balance for each full month your return is late.
