"We are trying to keep our eye on the prize and the prize is $20,000 for number 20 Bill Gillespie."
WOODSTOCK - Hundreds of people are expected to come out on Sunday at College Ave Secondary School for the annual Terry Fox run in Woodstock.
The theme this year is 20 for 20 as a number of people will be running to honour the late, great Bill Gillespie. Co-Coordinator of the Woodstock Terry Fox Run Peter Ewing says they will have a Gillespie team on hand for the event.
"We are trying to keep our eye on the prize and the prize is $20,000 for number 20 Bill Gillespie. I understand there is going to be a G team, a Gillespie team, involved on Sunday morning and they would love some company to help us achieve this goal. We have 65 community volunteers and we have 23 Lions Club of Woodstock volunteers and we have been working awfully hard since May to make this happen."
You can still sign up for the run now or on the day of. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at CASS. You can pick up registration forms in person at Green Financial, RBC at Dundas and Huron Street, TD Canada Trust at Springbank and downtown locations, CIBC at their downtown location, and the Main Attraction Hair Stylist in the Springbank Plaza or online here.
