We will be testing the Alert Ready Emergency System shortly before 11 a.m. today. This is only a test.
If you're listening to the radio just before 11 a.m. this morning, you might hear something unusual.
Radio stations across Ontario, including us here at 104.7 Heart FM, will be performing a test of the emergency system at 10:58 a.m.
Alert Ready is Canada's new national emergency alert system and it aims to bring information about potentially life threatening events to more residents across the country. Alerts could include events such as tornados, floods, biohazards and wild fires.
So if you're listening to us just before 11 a.m. you will hear an alert, but this is only a test.
