This past Wednesday's parade lasted for one hour and saw nine cars. During the pandemic, the Thamesford Lions Club has hosted more than 50 parades.
THAMESFORD - The Thamesford Lions Club have been amazing during the pandemic.
They have done over 50 parades to wish kids and residents a happy Birthday since April. This week they had a parade for the graduating class of 2020.
Member Rebecca Haggerty says they did a parade for one hour through all of Thamesford.
"We wanted to celebrate the graduates of 2020 and we had been asked by the Thamesford Public School grade 8 committee if we could participate in the parade they were planning with the Town. Unfortunately they couldn't go forward with that celebration but we already had plans to do the parade through the entire town and bring everyone into it. So this parade was for anyone graduating, whether it was kindergarten, grade 8, high school, College or University."
Haggerty adds they had nine cars in the parade on Wednesday.
"For one hour we drove through a parade route through Thamesford. We had 9 cars in our parade. One was the Thamesford Public School Student council President and she did an amazing job decorating her car with her kids. We had other vehicles that were Lions members that were decorated in streamers and balloons and we just hit up the town."
They played two songs in a loop during the parade, the Graduation song by Vitamin C and Celebration.
