Teams of 2 are needed to sign up for the 3rd annual Amazing Race Tillsonburg this year. Participants will race through the town with competitions set up at local businesses on August 17th.
TILLSONBURG - The 3rd Annual Amazing Race Tillsonburg is coming up on August 17th to raise money for the Helping Hands Food Bank.
Right now they are looking for teams to register. Organizer Jason Kane says the Race lasts for one day, starting at 10:30 a.m. and things usually get pretty competitive.
"Teams will race through the Town of Tillsonburg at a number of local businesses, so it is to help local business as well. The businesses participate as well and you will have to do a challenge at each location. So the participants will go through Town, about 15 or 20 different locations they go do, we try to incorporate different activities, last year we had canoeing, this year we might incorporate some dancing as well."
Kane says teams are competing a $500 cash prize.
"The teams are really shooting for that cash prize, the contestants are also asked to collect pledges and the team that collects the most pledges is given a 5 minute head start."
It does cost $50 a team to sign up. They do the race every year to raise funds for the Helping Hands Food bank and this year the money will go towards purchasing feminine hygiene products. You can find more information on how to sign up your team online here.
