It's about a man who lives a boring life, until he gets pulled into a spy conspiracy and has to go on the run across the country to clear his name!
WOODSTOCK - It's a tale of mystery and intrgue with some slapstick comedy mixed in there.
The 39 Steps is about a man who lives a boring life, until he meets a woman with an accent who claims to be a spy. The woman is murdered after the man brings her home, and he's now on the run from a mysterious organization called The 39 Steps.
The show will make its debut at Theatre Woodstock this weekend and President Emil Wijinker says four actors will bring over 100 characters to life on stage.
"One actor plays the main character through the entire show and the other three actors are switching characters multiple times throughout the show, sometimes mid-scene! Sometimes they're just changing a hat and sometimes they're changing direction and changing accents."
Artistic Director Shannon Wijinker has this piece of advice for those who are planning on checking out the show.
"Bring your imagination! I think that is the biggest thing with this one because there is not too much going on with the set and the props. It's all about using your imagination and loving these characters."
This show will have the thrills of an Alfred Hitchcock spy movie, mixed with slapstick humor similar to Monty Python. It's recommended for adult audiences, and tickets can be purchased through the Theatre Woodstock website.
Emil and Shannon Wijinker stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday, April 14th. You can listen to the full interview below:
