Thousands are expected to descend down upon the city of London Saturday. A massive rally has been organized by the Ontario Federation of Labour and the Canadian Auto Workers Union after 425 CAW Local 27 members were locked out of their Electro Motive Plant in London January 1st. Woodstock's CAW Local 636 Vice President Doug Steele says members from both Oxford locals will be there in solidarity "transportation will be by various vehicles and actually Local 88 in Ingersoll has also set up a shuttle service that will be operating into London through pre-registration, so the encouragement of our members is to take as many people with them as possible". The CAW says Electro Motive U.S. based parent company Caterpillar Inc wants to cut their pay and benefits by 55% and reduce pensions. The 'Fat Cat' day of action will be held at Victoria Park at 11am.
