Ontario Health Officials have confirmed another 3 cases of the new COVID-19 variant in Ontario. Two of the cases had recently travelled to the UK and another case had recently come into close contact with a traveler coming back from Dubai.
ONTARIO - Ontario Health Officials have confirmed another 3 cases of the new COVID-19 variant in Ontario.
This brings the total of confirmed cases of the variant in the Province to 5. The new cases include 1 each in Toronto, Peel and York. In each case the infected person had recently travelled or had come into close contact with someone who has recently travelled.
Two of the new cases just got back from travel in Europe and 1 person had been in closed contact with someone who recently travelled to Dubai.
This new variant of COVID-19 is spreading rapidly in the UK. It is more transmissible than other variants and seems to have a greater impact on young people.
