Oxford County OPP arrested three people Monday morning following an investigation in connection to a stolen vehicle from Woodstock.
OXFORD COUNTY - Three people have been arrested in connection to a stolen vehicle in Oxford County.
Members of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling on Bushell Court in Norwich at approximately 3 a.m. on October 16, 2023.
The patrolling officers located a vehicle that was reported stolen from Woodstock.
After further investigations, police would go on to seize two additional stolen vehicles as well as both illicit drugs and other stolen property in relation to the arrests.
The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), including their Canine Unit, assisted officers in taking the three individuals into custody.
The arrests include 20-year-old Jacob McKenna of Wasaga Beach, as well as two 18-year-olds, Zamil Ali and Dylan Raposo, of Hamilton.
The three have each been charged under the Criminal Code with theft of a motor vehicle as well as three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
In addition, McKenna has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 as well as failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with probation.
Both Ali and Raposo have also received additional charges including failing to comply with undertaking as well as possession of a Schedule 1 substance.
The 20-year-old is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on October 20, 2023.
The two 18-year-olds are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on November 21, 2023.
The OPP are encouraging members of the public to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) if they see suspicious activity or behaviour around vehicles or properties.
