Addiction Services of Thames Valley, CMHA Oxford and CMHA Elgin Middlesex have agreed to formally operate as one agency.
OXFORD COUNTY - Addiction Services of Thames Valley, CMHA Oxford and CMHA Elgin Middlesex have agreed to formally operate as one agency.
The merger was approved by a unanimous vote from all three Boards of Directors.
The agencies will strive to reach the following vision: Resilience for all through positive mental health and freedom from addiction.
The agency will be led by Beth Mitchell and Linda Sibley as co-CEO's for the next 12-18 months. Mitchell says this is good news for the communities these agencies serve.
"The integration of addiction and mental health services will be a game-changer for our communities."
Executive Director of Addiction Services Linda Sibley says they will work together for the integration.
"In order to ensure we do not lose our specializations, Beth and I will work as a team to lead this important integration."
Executive Director of CMHA Oxford, Lynn Wardell will become the VP of Program Operations and the Oxford Site Director. Wardell says they will still be here to serve people in Oxford County who need help.
"Our model will strengthen local services. We will work hard at implementing a model that ensures services stay close to home. You have our commitment. Through this approach, we will have Regional Centres, hubs and mini-hubs throughout the Thames Valley region, creating programming across county boundaries – current boundaries that can get in the way of great service."
The new agency will be developing a transition plan over the next couple of months, including a new Board of Directors and Leadership Team for the integrated agency. They expect this will be completed later this summer.
