The victim and suspects were involved in a verbal argument which escalated and the victim was then assaulted and stabbed several times.
HALDIMAND - Three people have been arrested in connection with an assault in Hagersville.
Police say they responded to an incident at a quarry on Concession 12 in Walpole where a witness reported a stabbing and saw three male suspects flee the area on foot.
The three individuals matching the descriptions were located a short distance away and then detained.
The stabbing victim was taken to an out of town hospital by paramedics with serious injuries, and is expected to recover from their injuries.
OPP say the investigation has revealed that multiple people were at the quarry when the victim was confronted by three males. The victim and suspects were involved in a verbal argument which escalated and the victim was then assaulted.
A second victim tried to intervene to help their friend and they too were also assaulted.
During the assault, one of the suspects brandished an edged weapon and stabbed the first victim several times.
The three charged are;
18 year old John Herod of Brantford, charged with one count of Assault.
18 year old Unone Heron of Brantford, charged with Assault, Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Both are to appear in a Cayuga court at a later date to answer to the charges.
Meanwhile, 19 year old Delroy Warren of Brantford has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Disobeying a Court Order.
Warren was held for a bail hearing in Cayuga.
