Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Oxford County and Brant County.
OXFORD/BRANT - A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Oxford County and Brant County.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Cheng says we could be in for thunderstorms and lots of rain.
"We're concerned about the thunderstorms that are going to develop this afternoon through this evening because these thunderstorms can produce heavy downpours. That could certainly reduce visibility on the roads and also could lead to some localized flooding."
Cheng says we can also expect strong winds.
"These gusts can reach up to 90 kilometres per hour. With that sort of power it could really toss loose objects around and what could create another hazard for the public."
Severe thunderstorms have been known to produce tornadoes.
