The Bridges At Tillsonburg is taking tee times for this weekend right now and it doesn't appear that any fines have been issued after a weekend of golf at the course.
TILLSONBURG - The course was packed all weekend at the Bridges At Tillsonburg golf course.
The course opened in a defiant act as the Province mandated they close over a week ago. The OPP was monitoring the situation outside the course. We have not been given any word of fines for any of the golfers or the course at this time. Heart FM has reached out to the Oxford OPP and are waiting to hear back.
The course remains open and on the web site you can start booking tee times for Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week. The course is booked solid and the only tee times still available are for the late afternoon on Friday and Saturday, they do still have several tee times still available for Thursday.
Tillsonburg Mayor Stephen Molnar is disappointed his Town made headlines over the weekend.
"I'm disappointed that a private business would open against current regulations. In the Province of Ontario, our focus as a community, continues to be on ways that we can ensure the overall health of individuals and our community as a whole."
Molnar says he understands residents are frustrated.
"We don't all necessary have to agree on some of the regulations and restrictions that have been introduced, but my comment the other day is at some point we have to decide if we are in this direction. If we can put our oars in the water and row in the same direction then eventually we will come out of this together."
Heart FM heard rumblings of other businesses in the Town who were going to open as well. We have not been able to confirm at this time if any other places did open.
We will continue to update this story with more details as they become available.
