A 33-year-old from Tillsonburg has been charged after the Elgin OPP pulled over a golf cart in Bayham early Sunday morning.
BAYHAM - The Elgin OPP would like to remind everyone to not drink and drive, even if you're behind the wheel of a golf cart.
Officers pulled over a golf cart on Nova Scotia Line, close to Chatham Street, in Bayham at around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday. They say the driver had open containers of alcohol with them and they registered an Alert when they took a roadside screening test.
The 33-year-old from Tillsonburg has been charged with having an open container of liquor in an unauthorized place and their license was also suspended for three days.
The Elgin OPP would also like to remind everyone that golf carts should only be used on private property. They are not permitted to be driven on the road, and there are few exceptions to this rule.
