The TVDSB will be hosting a virtual information session tomorrow night, all about the design process for the new school in the north end of Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - More information is coming about Woodstock's new school in the north end.
Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) is currently in the design stage of developing the school to support growth in North Woodstock. They received approximately $17.5 million in funding from the Ministry of Education as part of TVDSB's 2021-22 round of capital priorities program late last year.
Some information about the new school is known already, including the plan for a five-room childcare centre for 10 infants, 30 toddlers, and 48 preschoolers. However, Manager of Capital Projects, Carlos Henriquez explains how you can learn about what's been happening behind the scenes.
"Now that we have finalized the schematic design, we have scheduled an information session for this Thursday (October 27th) to provide that information to the community. Then we are going into more detailed design, so that's more of a nuts and bolts, engineering part and architecture part of the project."
Henriquez confirmed that meeting invitations have been sent out to parents who could be in the potential attendance area and that the official attendance area will be established over the next year.
The information session will not be a closed session, so if you did not receive an invite and would like to attend, the virtual meeting link will be posted on the TVDSB website. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. and wrap up at 7:30 p.m.
Details as well as questions and answers will also be posted to the website following the meeting if you cannot attend.
