Nearly 3,000 jobs were lost last month
OXFORD COUNTY - Looks like more people are looking for work in the London area which includes Oxford County.
The unemployment rate for the region had a big spike last from going from 6.6% to 7.3%. According to statistics Canada we lost 2,700 jobs last month in the area and the number of people looking for work fell by 700 after months of growth. Some of that can be attributed to seasonal work ending in the month of September.
The London is area is just above the National average when it comes to the unemployment rate which increased by 0.1 percentage points to 7.1% last month.
