Brad Janssen will shave his curly locks at the Boston Pizza in Woodstock tonight after the community helped United Way Oxford reach its fundraising goal.
WOODSTOCK - United Way Oxford is Shaving the Date for Campaign Chair Brad Janssen's new haircut!
Visit Boston Pizza Woodstock tonight at 7:30 p.m. and join United Way for the big shave!
Janssen announced during local love week that if the community can help raise $5,000, he would shave his curly locks.
"Dr. [Leonard] Reeves, who is a rockstar in this community, he said you know what if you raise funds, I will match it up to $5,000. So, we sat around the table and thought how can we do this? And all eyes turned to me so I said, you know what I will shave my head!"
From February 13th to 17th, the community came together and helped raise funds for the United Way Fund. Upper Thames Brewing Company and Boston Pizza Woodstock even jumped in on the fun, selling pink craft beer and heart-shaped pizza for the cause.
Manager of Resource Development Amanda Kreiger says the exact fundraising total will be announced during tonight's big shave.
United Way Oxford runs fundraising initiatives all year round, and is always looking for community support. Learn more about their programs or make a donation online here.
