United Way Oxford and Women United will host a virtual panel discussion next Thursday to discuss Homelessness after watching the documentary US and THEM.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford and Women United will host the virtual panel discussion next Thursday to discuss Homelessness.
Before the panel everyone is encouraged to watch the documentary "US and THEM." US and THEM is an emotionally powerful film that leaves audiences with new perspectives about the unhoused. If there was ever a time that we need to create a space for community conversation around these issues, it’s now.
You can watch the film for free by registering with the United Way's Us and Them Film viewing and virtual panel discussion. You can register by emailing Amanda at amanda@unitedwayoxford.ca or calling 519-539-3851 ext: 313.
The virtual panel is hosted by United Way Oxford and Women United and it is taking place on Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 pm. The local panel will talk about local homelessness, mental health and addiction issues, and available supports to help. This panel will allow for a follow-up community conversation based on the US & THEM documentary.
Panelists include:
- CMHA Oxford Representative
- Oxford County Community Health Centre – David Knezevic and Amanda Cook
- Marci Shelton, Woodstock Police and United Way Oxford Campaign Chair
- Social Planning Council Oxford – Stephanie Ellens-Clark
US and THEM was written and directed by Krista Loughton and award-winning filmmaker Jennifer Abbott, the co-director and editor of the widely acclaimed film The Corporation, one of Canada's most successful documentaries.
