The Vegas Golden Knights won their first Stanley Cup last night after crushing the Florida Panthers 9-3 in Game 5 of the NHL championship series.
LAS VEGAS - The Vegas Golden Knights have won the Stanley Cup!
The Knights captured the six-year-old organization's first championship last night, after celebrating a 9-3 victory over the visiting Florida Panthers at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas won the best-of-seven series 4-1 in the end.
Vegas captain Mark Stone finished the NHL season with a hat trick, and his third goal was scored on an empty net with just under six minutes remaining.
Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault was also awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
