You could learn more about the Oxford County Cycling Master Plan and provide your input during a virtual open house tonight at 7:00 p.m.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is seeking input for their Cycling Master Plan.
Manager of Transportation and Waste Management Services Frank Gross explains the objective of the Master Plan.
"It is designed to provide a connected cycling network throughout the County that promotes active transportation, as well as tourism and provides low carbon transit options."
The County has already gone through phase one consultations that called for a tiered approach to the cycling network. It calls for a Primary Cycling Network that connects many of Oxford County’s key destinations. The secondary network will look at the growing number of recreational and touring cyclists in the area.
The County is looking for feedback and additional input on the following:
- What elements of the Primary Cycling networks should be a priority upon implementation?
- What types of cycling amenities are wanted and useful? Where should these amenities be located?
- What types of signage and wayfinding should be used to help to support use of the cycling network?
For anyone interested, a second virtual open house tonight starting at 7:00 p.m. You can find more information and also provide input online here.
