Warden David Mayberry says he heard from some of the best and brightest during the conference
OXFORD- Oxford County's Warden was in San Francisco rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in renewable energy.
Warden David Mayberry says he heard from some of the best and brightest during a renewable energy conference.
"The secretary of the Navy for the US spoke about what they're doing around renewable energy. You had people like Elon Musk from Tesla, the people that created Solar City - the largest solar installer in the US. Steve Chu, the Nobel prize winner was the speaker."
Mayberry says he went to the conference on behalf of ERTH who paid for the trip.
"I sit on the board there - they see it as they want to make sure they have educated their directors to understand the big picture and as any company that's trying to move forward that the director really understand what the industry looks like."
Listening to all the speakers and talking to other people at the conference drove home the importance of communication about renewable energy according to Mayberry.
"To me it's always a case of what did I learn that will help the people of Oxford County? And one of the things that struck me was how do we tell our story in a way that captivates our imagination and our passion of everyday people to say, 'That's the kind of future I want for my children.'"
