The Oxford Community Foundation is organizing the Warden's Charity Golf Tournament on Friday. The fundraiser is happening at the Bridges At Tillsonburg.
TILLSONBURG - The 2019 Oxford County Warden's Charity Golf Tournament is this Friday.
The fundraiser is being put on by the Oxford Community Foundation, which raises money towards furthering the work of the OCF.
Warden Larry Martin says the money is then distributed across organizations throughout the community. He says half of the money will go towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
"They raise money, the Oxford Foundation, raises money for bursaries and benefits throughout the Township. Now I believe this year the main one that they select each year will get 50 percent and then the other 50 percent will be spread out to other organizations and groups, it'll be spent back within the community, and this year's group will be Heart and Stroke."
The event is designed to build community by meeting people, networking and having fun together.
Warden Martin says it's going to be a fun day.
"They tell me that it's a very fun fun event. They tell me I will be running a putting competition on one hole, so that will give me an opportunity to meet a lot more people that will be participating as well. And it sounds like a fun day."
The tickets are $150.00 per person, which includes a hot breakfast and lunch. Registration and a full hot breakfast will be provided at 8:00 am. A shot gun start time is at 9:00 am with lunch and awards to follow at 1:30pm.
For tickets and sponsorship opportunities, you can head to the OCF's website or you can email info@oxfordcommunityfoundation.org.
The tournament will be at the Bridges at Tillsonburg.
