Much of southwestern Ontario is expected to receive some much needed rainfall over the next few days, however it's a little too late for the Grand River Watershed. The Grand River Low Water Response Team issued a Level 2 Low Water Level for the entire Grand River Watershed as of Wednesday. All water users, both municipal and private water supplies should voluntarily reduce their consumption by 20 percent for the time being. People in these areas are being asked to eliminate non-essential water use such as lawn watering and car washing. Environment Canada does have a special weather statement issued for most of southern and eastern Ontario with periods of rain expected to begin over southwestern Ontario this evening. Forecasts indicate general total rainfall amounts of 15 to 30 mm for most areas, with some local higher rainfall possible.
