Co-Chair of the 2015 Women of Excellence, Jill Wilcox said it's important to take the time to acknowledge inspirational women in the area so young women can find encouragement in their stories.
"It's a very inspiration evening because there's women from a very broad range of backgrounds."
"It's very important that young women are a part of that evening and having been part of it two years ago it is indeed very inspirational to see some of the achievements that some of the women in our community have made."
Nominations were open to anyone in the community, and from that list the recipients were chosen. Wilcox said the decision can take quite some time to make.
80 young women will be selected from grades 9 to 12 to attend the gala for free.
Tickets can be bought purchased HERE . Proceeds will support the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
