The Woodstock and District Chamber of Commerce said goodbye to Outgoing President Paul Chambers and welcomed Incoming President Bob Armstrong this afternoon.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock and District Chamber of Commerce held their Annual General Meeting at the Quality Hotel and Suites this afternoon.
It was the chance to say goodbye to their outgoing President Paul Chambers. He talks about the highlights during his term.
"It's been a fun two years. I got to meet a lot of people, we did a lot of good things, we kept the Chamber on a solid path forward, we were able to advocate and help the business community in Woodstock and we will continue to do that."
Bob Armstrong will be taking over as President over the next two years. He has a few things he would like to accomplish.
"Just to be more community driven, be more communication driven with all of our members and find out what's out there, what do they need and what we can do for them."
The lunch meeting also included an information session regarding cyber security and fraud prevention.
General Manager Kim Whitehead explains why they felt the need to educate their members on this topic.
"RBC has been a long time sponsor for the AGM and we thought it would be very timely because cyber fraud and fraud prevention are things more and more businesses are dealing with. We thought it was a good thing to educate our members about fraud and cyber security."
