Woodstock and Tillsonburg are hosting Rainbow Rally Walks in support of the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. They will be hosting two rallies prior to the actual day on May 17th. In Woodstock the walk will happen this Thursday starting at the Woodstock Area Community health building on 35 Metcalfe street at noon. Chairperson of Oxford County's Rainbow Coalition Gail Milne says everyone is invited to come out and show their support. " The theme for the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia this year is Allyship, and encourages friends, co-workers and family members to show their support the LGBT community as well." She adds the Tillsonburg walk will be held on Friday at the clock tower by the Metro starting at noon. They will be having cookies, coffee and conversation after both events. The International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia started back in 1999 on May 17th when homophobia was removed from the World Health Organizations list of mental illnesses.
