Woodstock is looking to grow again. The city made a formal pitch to Norwich Council today, asking for a boundary adjustment to add 94-acres of land the city has purchased. Woodstock has bought the VanWyk Farm, near the Patullo Ridge Business Park. However, the lands are in Norwich Township, and the city needs their neighbours to agree to a border adjustment. Mayor Pat Sobeski says it's land the city has coveted for over a decade. "It's always been of interest to the city because of the location next to Patullo Ridge, and the topography. It's a site that's relatively easy to service from the city's point of view." Woodstock is running low on inventory of large parcels of shovel ready land for major companies looking to come to the area. Norwich has asked their staff for a report at their next meeting, in August, to outline what might be in the township's best interests.
