A current Woodstock City Councillor is looking to become Deputy Mayor in the upcoming municipal election.
WOODSTOCK - The ballot for Woodstock will have a name for the Deputy Mayor position.
Bernia Martin, who is currently serving as a City Councillor has put forward her nomination papers to try and secure the spot of Deputy Mayor. Martin says there are many topics she is passionate about, and speaks to one specifically.
"I would say another priority of mine is enhancing our environment. I'm really proud of the work that we've done around the green bin rollout 17 months ahead of schedule. This wasn't even supposed to be happening yet for Woodstock."
She talks about a goal she has while campaigning.
"And I'm looking forward to getting to know other candidates and people who might sit at the future council to share that vision, leading with purpose and building with people."
