A municipal election is on the horizon, and there will be a familiar face running for Mayor.
WOODSTOCK - A familiar face has thrown their hat in the ring to be the Mayor of Woodstock.
Jerry Acchione has submitted his nomination papers and will appear on the ballot when voters head to the polls. Acchione says why he wants to be Mayor again.
"Work is not done, plain and simple. I've still got this ultimate goal of better roads, better spaces, and better Woodstock. I want to keep us moving in the right direction."
Acchione mentions why he thinks he should get the votes and what sets him apart.
"The biggest difference between myself and potentially another mayoral candidate is experience."
He adds that he would like other people to step forward.
"I respect anyone who steps forward to serve - that’s what makes our community strong. But experience matters. I’ve been at the table making decisions, managing growth, and delivering real results - better roads, better spaces, and a stronger Woodstock. This isn’t a learning role; it takes proven leadership to keep our city moving forward."
He says that the last 4 years were getting the pieces in place, and the next 4 years will be putting it all together.
Residents of Woodstock will head to the polls on Monday, October 26, 2026.
