The current Woodstock Curling Club will celebrate 75 years. There is an event tomorrow (Saturday, October 21st) with activities and entertainment. There will also be a funding presentation for the Club.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Curling Club is hurrying hard into their 75th Anniversary.
They will be having a celebration tomorrow (Saturday, October 21st) to honour of the milestone.
President, Lisa Wells says there will be lots to do at the event.
"People can come out and try curling, they can come see our centre, we will be giving tours. We will have entertainment there, and also have Todd's Dogs there."
The festivities get underway at 1 p.m. and will run until 5, with the Trillium Grant Funding presentation being held at 2 p.m.
Board of Directors Committee Member, Judy Farlow says a chunk of money came through the Trillium Grant.
"We got $111,000 this time around. It really allowed us to install new lighting, new energy efficient furnaces, dehumidifiers both in our lounge and on the ice."
Farlow adds, the funding was able to let the club focus on energy efficiency through the entire building, which is important as utility costs can chew up a lot of the Club's budget.
