Woodstock Extends Pop Up Patio Program

Woodstock City Council has decided to extend the pop up patio program for another two years.

WOODSTOCK - It looks like you will be able to enjoy a nice meal at a local restaurant in the Friendly City this spring if Public Health measures allow.

Mayor Trevor Birtch says the pop up patio program has been extended.

"We're unsure of how all the regulations will be as the warmer weather comes so Council did vote to extend that program for the next two years."

He adds the program was a big success last year. Local restaurants were able to open patios to make it easier for patrons to dine out while observing COVID-19 safety measures.

Birtch says we need to support the local economy during these challenging times.

"Supporting local especially in these times is very important so do what you can to help keep your friends and neighbours working and happy here in our community."

Restaurants interested in opening their own pop up patio can contact the Clerks Office for more information.
