The Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board selected VON Sakura House as it's Charity of Choice this year.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board has donated $11,000 to the VON Sakura House.
WIDREB President Alison Porter says they have been raising this money all year.
“This was the second year that WIDREB has decided to select a Charity of Choice, so our donation could have more of an impact. We are so happy that we were able to present the VON Sakura House of Oxford with a cheque for $11,000.00; proceeds raised from WIDREB Events and Grants from the Ontario REALTORS® Care Foundation.”
Every member of the WIDREB donates to the cause. The money is collected through the monthly fees and $1.00 from every member, every month goes to charity. They collected $2,157 this year. The additional monies comes from the Realtors Care grant, the OREA Spirit Award, REALTORS® Care COVID Relief Grant and the WIDREB Donation budgets.
They presented the VON Sakura House with the cheque earlier this month. The WIDREB plans to do this every year, selecting a new local charity. Local charities can apply for the funding through the REALTORS® Care staff liaison. The deadline to apply is January 30, 2021.
