An elderly Woodstock couple confirmed their 6.8 million dollar Lotto 649 winnings at a lotto kiosk in Walmart on Norwich Avenue.
WOODSTOCK - An elderly Woodstock couple reportedly married for 53 years are the big winners of the Lotto 649 draw. The winners of the $6 800,000 Lotto 649 draw will travel to Toronto on Monday to claim their prize. It was on Saturday morning when the couple ventured into the lotto kiosk in Wal-Mart on Norwich Avenue to validate their winning ticket.
"We had a customer come into the store and said they were a big winner, we asked them how much and they said well we think we won 6.8 million dollars on the Lotto 649 from the Wednesday draw," said lotto kiosk owner Brad Long who operates the booth with his wife Tammy.
"We put it through our terminal and it froze our terminal and they were right, they won $6, 800,000."
This isn't the first time this kiosk has had big winners. The Long's took over the kiosk in December of 2012 and since then have given away over 8 million dollars in 28 months.
