A Woodstock man had to wait a few months to claim his Lotto 6/49 prize, because it was considered an insider win.
WOODSTOCK - A father from Woodstock is $233,000 richer after winning Lotto 6/49.
Antonio Estrella purchased his winning ticket from the Petro Canada on Norwich Ave back in August. He had to wait to claim his prize because his daughter works at a convenience store, so it was considered an insider win. The investigation is now complete and Estrella can enjoy his winnings.
Estrella says he plays the lotto all the time.
"I enjoy playing LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTARIO.”
Antonio checked several tickets on the OLG Lottery App a few weeks after the draw.
“I got very emotional when I saw the prize amount – I was getting ready for work and I just broke down in tears of disbelief.”
The Woodstock father plans on paying bills, investing, helping his children with their education and taking a trip.
“It gives our family a lot of breathing room – it still has not sunk in yet though. We are off to Cancun soon, so maybe it will feel real once we get there.”
