There will be a national baseball tournament in Woodstock until 2031, as Woodstock Minor Baseball has been awarded the 13U tournament.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Minor Baseball has been awarded the 13U National Championships.
The organization has hosted the tournament since 2023, with its current bid running out next year. 1st Vice President, Brent Peltola, shares the great news.
"In September of this year, we bid for a five-year extension to that, and we're successful in that bid. So, we will be hosting the championship through 2031."
Peltola says they will continue to make the player and fan experience one of a kind, as players might not get to experience a National Championship at a different age group or in a different centre. He shares that there is so much that goes on behind the scenes to make a National Championship happen.
"We have a dedicated team that has been together for a number of years that knows what they're doing, but we're always looking for others who want to bring their expertise forward to assist."
Peltola adds that they are also looking for sponsors who would be able to help with the cost associated with running an event like this. If you would like to hear more of what Peltola talked about, take a listen to the full interview below.
