Groups of 4 to 6 people can now book a time slot for the Woodstock Museum's newest escape room. The theme is Prohibition: Escape the FBI and it will be available until September 4th.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Museum is bringing back the always popular Escape Room.
This years theme is Prohibition: Escape the FBI and it will run Fridays and Saturdays until September 4th. Curator Karen Houseton says groups of four can book one hour time slots from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
"What is so nice about Escape Rooms in the time of COVID, is they only allow for 4-6 people anyways. So even when you have very limited numbers, you can still be safe and every item in the room is going to be cleaned each time."
Houston says it's a great way to get out of the house and connect with friends.
"Our Escape Rooms have been really, really popular and this one is going to be a lot of fun, because basically we are looking at the 1920's and 1930's."
To escape the room, you will need to solve a series of puzzles and secret clues.
Visitors can learn more about the history behind some of the city’s oldest buildings with the current exhibit, Brick by Brick: The Heritage Architecture of Woodstock, which will be available until October 2nd, 2021.
The Museum has also revamped the permanent gallery display in the historic 1879 Council chambers. The new exhibit explores Woodstock’s municipal history from the incorporation of the town and the building of the Old Town Hall in the 1850s, to notable politicians like Bernadette Smith who became Canada’s first elected female mayor of a city in 1952.
