The Wodostock Navy Vets are ready to leave it all on the ice with a new logo, new jerseys, and lots of talent.
WOODSTOCK - The roster is almost set for the Woodstock Navy Vets who open up their 50th anniversary season on Friday September 18th at home against Wellesley.
Head Coach Adam Wallace says they have a number of players returning from last year including their captain and both assistants.
"It's huge to have our leaders and returning guys. The leaders played for us for a full year and they know what is expected of them as leaders and for the young guys and new recruits, it makes it a lot easier for those guys to learn and pay attention to detail having guys they can go to who have been through this before."
Wallace says they plan on playing an exciting brand of hockey this year and the team is already starting to gel. He notes a couple of rookies have really impressed in training camp and thinks this will be a competitive team for the 50th anniversary season. Wallace says they are hoping to build off a strong season last year.
"This team you can tell, they had a full year last year playing together, they are starting to get certain things without us having to tell them, you can see the excitement from the players who are pumped for the 50th season and are looking to get things going."
The Navy Vets have also unveiled a brand new logo and new jerseys for the 50th anniversary season.
