It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Friendly City. Everyone is invited the annual City Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony tonight starting at 6:30 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - It's official, the snow has fallen and minds are being set to the holiday season.
Tonight, Friday November 14th, the community is invited to Museum Square in Woodstock for the annual City Christmas Tree Lighting.
The Communications special events manager for the City of Woodstock Brad Janssen explains how he feels this years lighting will go.
"I think this year particularly, its going to be even more festive because we got snow early this year so with the snow on the ground it'll be kind of chilly so dress for the weather its going to be great because we have a choir this year to lead the people in song and elevate the mood and get the mind set there, and this will be setting up the parade on Saturday which will have Santa making his first appearance of the season so I think with the weather and the new displays that its all systems go for the Christmas season."
It will have Hot Chocolate, Cookies made by WDDS, The Heart FM Cruiser will make an appearance, a scavenger hunt for the kids, the fanshawe singers will be the choir, and over 10,000 lights with seasonal displays. Santa's Village is all ready to go and we will start seeing regular appearances from Santa Claus starting on Sunday.
The Family Event to kick off the holidays will start at 6:30 PM and the lighting will be at 7:00, the event is open to anyone who wishes to go.
