Woodstock Police Briefs - Tuesday July 19th

Woodstock Police Briefs include a break and enter theft on Commerce Way, a stolen mountain bike on Marlboro Crescent, and a shoplifting investigation in the area of Dundas and Springbank.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is investigating a break and enter theft on Commerce Way.

Officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a local business compound at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say two or three suspects cut holes through the compound fence to gain access to the property and they stole a side-by-side vehicle from an enclosed trailer.

WOODSTOCK - A black mountain bike has been reported stolen from a shed on Marlboro Court.

Woodstock Police responded to the break and enter call at around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday.

Police say the stolen bike has large rims and officers are encouraging bike owners to register their bikes online here.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in a shoplifting investigation.

Police say a white man in his mid-20s took several items from a store in the Dundas Street and Springbank Ave area at around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday. The suspect allegedly took the items to the parking lot and loaded them onto his orange bike.

The man was wearing a dark shirt, grey baggy sweatpants, and sunglasses at the time.

WOODSTOCK - A 48-year-old Woodstock man is facing two counts of theft under $5,000 for shoplifting.

The Woodstock Police Service responded to reports of a man shoplifting a bottle of alcohol on Monday July 11th and on Saturday July 16th.

Officers arrested their suspect after they found him with a bottle of vodka on Warwick Street. Police say the man has also been charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order other than to attend court.

WOODSTOCK - A 23-year-old man from Brantford is facing charges impaired driving charges in the Friendly City.

Police say a local citizen waived down officers at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, to inform them about a suspected impaired driver in the area of Dundas Street and Springbank Ave.

They were able to track down the driver, who has since been charged with operation while impaired by drugs and alcohol, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and driving without a license.
