WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are preaching Lock It or Lose after multiple reports of theft from vehicles in the Friendly City.
In each case, items such as ownership and insurance were taken from the vehicle.
The WPS is offering the following tips to help keep you from becoming a victim of this type of crime.
1. Always roll up your vehicle's windows, lock the doors and pocket the key
2. Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running
3. If you have a garage, use it and lock the door as well as your vehicle
4. Don't leave registration and proof of insurance documents in your glove compartment or console.
5. Always park your vehicle in a well lit area.
6. Never leave valuables in plain sight and remove belongings from the vehicle when it is not in use
7. Activate or install a vehicle alarm system, home security camera system and/or motion detected outdoor lighting.
