Gavin Gall will be suiting up for the St. Norbert College Green Knights in Wisconsin this fall.
WOODSTOCK - A local high school football player has signed on for a full ride to play NCAA football south of the border.
Gavin Gall will play slotback and wide receiver at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin next fall. Gavin has been playing football for only 4 years, starting out with the Woodstock Wolverines. He joined CASS in his Grade 10 year and was instantly named the captain because of his leadership skills. During his time at CASS, he was named the team MVP and was also named an all star.
Gavin was obviously very disappointed to not be able to play in his senior year, but he did manage to find a positive from it.
"I ended off my Grade 11 season really good and then, knowing I have all these opportunities, it would have been great to have that last season, but I feel like ending it off as a Grade 11 was good for me too."
Gavin had multiple offers, despite not playing his senior year. He stayed in football shape this year playing flag football with the Mustangs out of London. They had to play flag football because of COVID-19 restrictions.
CASS held a signing ceremony for him with his coach Ryan Stafford, his parents were in attendance and the Principal. Stafford says the sky is the limit for Gavin Gall and he has really bright future.
"The sky is the limit for this kid, his work ethic is second to none and he has a chance to do something special. It is a feel good story from Woodstock, in a time when there hasn't been many feel good stories."
