The festive season will officially kick off in Woodstock tonight with the lighting of Museum Square.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is declaring the beginning of the holiday season by illuminating Museum Square.
The lighting of Museum Square will take place tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in downtown Woodstock.
At 6:00 p.m., there will be an official welcome followed by the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus and the lighting of the lights. The rest of the evening will include a visit with a couple of Santa's reindeer, the Grinch, Elsa, Anna, and Olaf, as well as live Christmas music from The Jazzman Band and Harbourtown Sound Choir.
There will be plenty of other fun activities and if you get hungry or thirsty, cookies and hot chocolate will be available to enjoy.
The City of Woodstock included a description of the event on its website.
"Museum Square will feature fun for both the young and young at heart, as we welcome the most wonderful time of the year!"
