The report about water and wastewater management in the City of Woodstock is not included in the Oxford County Council agenda for this Wednesday's meeting.
OXFORD COUNTY - It looks like Oxford County Council will not be discussing Woodstock's water and wastewater this week.
Council was supposed to look over a report which suggests the County taking over water and wastewater services for Woodstock. But the report is not listed on the current agenda, so it appears the matter will be not addressed on Wednesday. The next County Council meeting is scheduled for June 22nd.
City Councillor Jerry Acchione is very against the idea of the County taking over because he believes it will result in a lack of service for residents, especially on evenings and weekends.
Director of Public Works David Simpson says the County has dedicated on-call staff members that deal with after hours water and wastewater calls. He says they respond to after hour emergency calls within 10 minutes.
