Over the course of three years a Woodstock woman is accused of taking $360,000 from a financial account and is now facing several fraud charges.
WOODSTOCK - Oxford OPP have charged a Woodstock woman with fraud over $5,000 after $360,000 was removed from a financial account in Norwich.
Police were first contacted by a business from Norwich. The woman was apparently cashing these bogus cheques between January 2015 and September, 2018 totaling $360,000.
On Wednesday the Oxford County Crime Unit arrested and charged 48 year old Christine Georgina Smith from Woodstock. She faces the following offences:
- Fraud over $5,000
- Make a forged document
- Use, deal, acts on a forged document
- Laundering proceeds of crime
She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Woodstock at a later date.
