Two Woodstonians got the chance of a lifetime during Woodstock Day at the Roger's Centre.
The 12th annual Woodstock Day at the Rogers Centre was a success. About 1,100 people from the Diary Capital crammed onto 14 busses so they could witness the Jays crush the Oakland Athletics 9-3 on Saturday.
The game also featured a local boy throwing the ceremonial first pitch. Martin VanBommel tells Heart FM that he was very proud to see his son Carter, on the mound.
"It's pretty awesome! It's a once in a life time experience and I get to be here with him out on the field."
Another highlight was watching Gordon Fletcher of Woodstock be presented with his own jersey as this year's Community Champion. He tells Heart FM that he has been a Jays fan for 17 years.
"I used to be a Detroit fan when I lived in Sarnia, but when I moved to Woodstock I switched over to the Blue Jays."
Fletcher has attended every Woodstock Day at the Roger Centre since they began 12 years ago.
