Your Neighborhood Credit Union is being recognized for their community contributions.
The Ontario Credit Union Foundation has presented Your Neighbourhood Credit Union with the Corporate Achievement Award for 2017. The award is handed out on a yearly basis to a credit union that has demonstrated exceptional community contributions.
Kate Neff, Vice President of Marketing Services and Corporate Communication explains why YNCU helps out local causes.
"The people who work at our branches live in the neighbourhoods we serve; the CEO of the organization lives locally. We improve the lives of people who live in our communities and we hope that by doing so they find an advantage in banking locally too."
Here's a list of all of the causes/organizations the YNCU supports in the Woodstock and London areas:
- The Alzheimer's Society of Oxford Walk for Alzheimer's Fundraiser
- The Independent Living Centre in London
- The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Network
- The Team Shan Fore Shan Golf Tournament
- Woodstock and District Developmental Services
- The Greater London Hockey Association
- The Make a Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario
- Woodstock Minor Ball
- Juvenile Diabetes
- Sweaburg Parks and Rec Fastball Tournament
- Woodstock Wranglers PeeWee Baseball
- NorWest London Green Soccer
- Woodstock Minor Hockey PeeWee Select
Your Neighbourhood Credit Union has 17 branches throughout the province including 1 in London and 1 in Woodstock.
The Community Achievement Award is the first award YNCU has received since its merger with Community First last year.
