A third candidate will be on the ballot when residents of Zorra vote for their Ward 2 councillor.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Ward 2 in Zorra will have 3 candidates on the ballot.
Roger Moyer wants to be voted on to Council in the upcoming municipal election. Moyer has worked in different roles that work closely with councils, which he thinks sets him apart.
"I understand, and I respect the roles and responsibilities not only of elected councillors but also of staff, and I know the relationship between local area municipalities such as Zora within the hierarchy of the County of Oxford and the Province of Ontario."
Moyer worked for the County of Bruce as a land use planner and also worked for the province in the Ministry of Municipal Affairs. Moyer says he isn't running on any one platform, but mentions what he wants if elected.
"I'm running on good governance. I mean, I want there to be good, responsible, sound decisions. I'm all about fiscal and financial responsibility, and accountability. I want a council that's responsive to its community."
He adds that he is a good listener and thinks his previous experience will make him a great addition to Zorra Council. Residents of Zorra Township will cast their ballots on Monday, October 26, 2026.
