Zorra Township had quite the year in 2018.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Zorra Township is looking back on 2018.
As this year comes to an end, Mayor Marcus Ryan says one of the memories that sticks out to him is this year's municipal election.
"We had a very respectful election with elections conducted in two wards and for Mayor, and it went really well. We had a healthy exchange of ideas and the new council got to work really well already and I'm really proud of how, as a community, how we acquitted ourselves through that."
As council moves forward into 2019, Ryan says he is optimistic of what the new year will bring.
"I think there's a lot of opportunity for us in Zorra, if we're all willing to keep doing our part and do that hard work, I think we have an opportunity to make things better. I'm really optimistic about the year, and indeed the four years ahead."
Among the other high points this year for Zorra included the Thamesford Spray Pad and Skate Park and donations from local businesses.
The new council meeting will start on January 8th at 9:00am.
