10 Collisions in 3 Days

Woodstock Police were called to 10 collisions in the span of three days in the Friendly City.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police had another busy weekend with over 159 calls for service.

Early Friday evening police were called to a couple of collisions. The first one happening at 6 p.m. in the area of Wilson and Peel Street. One person did sustain minor injuries and a 30 year old woman was charged. The combined damage to both vehicles was $8,000.

Then just one hour later another two vehicle crash happened in the area of Spitfire St. and Finch Ave. Nobody was injured and the crash caused about $3,000 in damage to both vehicles. No word if any charges were laid in this incident.

Meanwhile on Saturday police were called to three crashes in the span of an hour. The first one happened at 3 p.m. when two vehicles collided on Dundas St. and Clarke St. in the friendly city. Nobody was injured and a 36 year old man was charged for turning not in safety.

15 minutes later another two vehicle collision happened on James St. and Springbank Ave. Both drivers were hurt with one of them suffering a broken heal and the other minor lacerations. The combined damage in that crash is $25,000 and a 22 year old man was charged with careless driving.

Then 15 minutes after that crash another one happened in the area of Douglas Street and Queen Street. One person suffered minor injuries and a 38 year old woman was charged with disobeying a stop sign.

Police were called to two more collisions on Sunday. The first one happened at 1 a.m. and ended with a 25 year old man from Innerkip getting charged with impaired driving. Police say the man was driving on Van Ave when he struck a truck that was parked on east side boulevard. The drivers vehicle sustained major damage but he kept going driving on the rim of one of the tires. The vehicle finally came to a stop on Frederick Street and police arrested man and charged him failing to remain at the scene of a collision and impaired driving.

The second crash on Sunday happened on Landsdowne Ave. nobody was injured and the combined damage to the vehicles was $8,000.

If you think that's a lot of crashes, well police responded to 4 more on Monday. Nobody was injured in any of the dust ups and a couple of drivers were charged. In one of the crashes on Monday, the driver left the scene after hitting a parked car on Springbank Ave and left the scene without reporting the collision. Police are still looking for the driver.

"    Make sure you report collisions
